We are prayerfully and faithfully seeking a new full-time Lead Pastor. Someone who has been called by God to pastoral ministry at Sunridge. Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Serve as an elder on the Sunridge Leadership Team, through which they will provide spiritual and practical pastoral leadership to our congregation and ministry groups
- Weekly preach and teach the Bible to our congregation, witnessing and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ while guarding from unsound doctrine
- Shepherd our believers to participate in baptism, communion, tithing, service and church partnership, and performing weddings, funerals, baby dedications and others as required
- Provide discipleship to develop new leaders and preachers in the church
- Nurture healthy relationships with the BC Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches and the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches Qualifications
- Preferably schooling from an accredited theological seminary, Christian college or university - Previous experience in church ministry in a leadership or teaching role
- If not already, willing to be credentialed with the BC Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches, and agreement with the Conference’s Confession of Faith

Background
The Indigenous Communities/SCC Liaison is a part-time staff position for someone who loves Jesus and has demonstrated a desire for reconciliation with Indigenous Communities. We are looking for someone who has good administrative and relationship skills to help sustain our relationship with local Indigenous Communities.
We are a mature church of approximately 250 people. We are part of the Conference of BC Mennonite Brethren Churches, adhering to their Confession of Faith and maintaining strong Anabaptist values. At our core we have a strong commitment to community, egalitarianism, lay leadership, and seeing our world transformed by the good news of Jesus Christ.
A local Indigenous Community and Sardis Community Church are on a reconciliation pathway that has become a significant part of each community. This journey began several years ago and activities have included sharing common meals, operating a children’s camp, gardening projects, joint participation on ceremonial occasions, emergency shelter assistance, prison ministry, and the forming of many friendships between individuals of the two communities.
The time commitment would be approximately 8 hours per week to start.
Responsibilities would include:
- Reporting to the Lead Pastor for accountability and direction.
- Being a contact person for both SCC and the local Indigenous Community.
- Planning joint activities with Indigenous leaders and encouraging SCC participation in those activities as appropriate
- Provide appropriate resources and education for SCC to motivate and inspire more people to walk a reconciliation journey.
- Evaluate and monitor SCC participation in ongoing activities.
