About Sunridge Community Church:

Since 1997 Sunridge Community Church has been dedicated to our mission of “Leading people to become passionately committed followers of Jesus.” We are a medium-sized church with a weekly gathering of 100+ people, and are affiliated with the British Columbia Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches. Sunridge is located in West Kelowna BC, the heart of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, about a 4-hour drive east of Vancouver. About our next Lead Pastor:

We are prayerfully and faithfully seeking a new full-time Lead Pastor. Someone who has been called by God to pastoral ministry at Sunridge. Someone who loves Jesus, loves people, lives mission, has a deep desire for shepherding those who do not yet know Christ and a passion for discipling those who do. Our new Lead Pastor will champion Sunridge’s mission and beliefs, and have a Spirit-filled hunger to build-up and grow Sunridge Community Church to reach those who are un-churched. Sunridge’s next lead pastor will demonstrate a deep personal relationship with Jesus, as evidenced by living and leading our church to a zealously devotional and prayerful life, and embodied by virtue of the character traits of 1Timothy and Titus. Through their ability to connect with others they will lead our congregation to fruitfully evangelize the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the community and beyond. Their passion and acknowledgement of the authority of God’s Word will be apparent, studying His scriptures and humbly allowing themselves to be led by scripture and the Holy Spirit.

Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

• Serve as an elder on the Sunridge Leadership Team, through which they will provide spiritual and practical pastoral leadership to our congregation and ministry groups
• Weekly preach and teach the Bible to our congregation, witnessing and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ while guarding from unsound doctrine
• Shepherd our believers to participate in baptism, communion, tithing, service and church partnership, and performing weddings, funerals, baby dedications and others as required
• Provide discipleship to develop new leaders and preachers in the church
• Nurture healthy relationships with the BC Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches and the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches Qualifications
• Preferably schooling from an accredited theological seminary, Christian college or university - Previous experience in church ministry in a leadership or teaching role
• If not already, willing to be credentialed with the BC Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches, and agreement with the Conference’s Confession of Faith

Salary

Salary $70,000 - $90,000 based on experience and education

Position Summary Reporting to the Lead Pastor and in accordance with Eagle Ridge Bible Fellowship (ERBF) statement of faith, governing policies, and in harmony with other church ministries, the role of Youth & Worship Pastor is to disciple and lead youth to grow in their faith and to lead our congregation in meaningful worship through music.

Responsibilities Youth Ministry

• Provides vision and leadership for the ERBF youth ministry.
• Coordinates and leads weekly youth night and special events.
• Disciples youth through formal and informal relationship building and mentorship.
• Lead and train the volunteer youth ministry team, recruiting new leaders as required.
• Provides support to parents seeking pastoral guidance for youth related concerns.
• Attends youth events as required to develop relationships with youth and ministry leaders.
• Ensure effective transition from children’s to junior church programs.

Worship Ministry

• Oversees the administration of the worship ministry.
• Guides and supports the worship planning process, coordinating vocalist, and instrumentalists including responsibility for rehearsals in preparation for worship services.
• Oversees the weekly worship service planning with additional preparation for special and seasonal services in collaboration with pastors, designated committees and volunteer worship leaders as necessary. Assists worship leaders in the selection of songs and arrangements.
• Leads Sunday morning worship 1 to 2 times per month, (preferably using an instrument), in collaboration with volunteer worship leaders and creates and ongoing monthly schedule.
• Oversees the sound and media team.
• Recruits volunteer worship leaders, musicians, vocalists and sound and media technicians as appropriate.

General

• Attends staff meetings and other leadership events.
• Develop and work within annual budgets for youth and worship ministries.
• Provides monthly reports to the Lead Pastor and attends Board of Elders meetings.
• Prepares written report written report for the ERBF annual general meeting.
• Maintains personal spiritual growth through daily prayer and devotion.
• Maintains personal ministry growth through reading, attending appropriate conferences or seminars and attending alternative church services three times/year.
• Maintains integrity of family and personal relationships.
• Supports the faith community at Eagle Ridge Bible Fellowship through regular attendance, giving, encouragement, care and prayer.

Qualifications

• A committed Christian who has or is seeking ERBF membership.
• Strong planning, organizational and administrative skills.
• Ability to train, cultivate and equip Worship team volunteers.
• Ability and commitment to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers and build supportive relationships with all church ministries.
• Mature, balanced, trustworthy and able to show compassion and empathy when working with others.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive church related matters.
• Ability and experience in team building and group process.
• Effective communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).
• An educational background (either undergrad or graduate degree) specific to ministry and a minimum 3 years experience on staff in a church.
• Experience leading worship.
• A skilled musician who can lead while playing an instrument and is proficient in singing and choral conducting would be beneficial.
• Knowledge and skill in the application of sound systems, media, lighting, audio recording and editing would be beneficial but not required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Work alongside the Lead Pastor to select songs, scripture readings, and write liturgy for the Sunday gathering
2. Lead worship with excellence, while bringing a Christ-centered, scripturally-saturated approach to all aspects of the gathering

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Proficient in leading a full band, arranging music, and collaboration Experience using Planning Center Services, Logic Pro recording software, and ProPresenter
• Experience in sound and lighting technology an asset
• Must be highly driven and able to learn quick and adapt
• Experience leading a choir an asset

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a follower of Jesus, with a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, personal, and growing relationship with Him
• Must be growing in Christ-likeness and meet the qualifications laid out in 1 Timothy 3:8-13
• Must have a clear sense of God’s calling to ministry with passion to lead people in worship

• Theological education is an asset though not necessary

Nechako Community Church (NCC) is a Christ-centered community-serving church located within the rural community of Vanderhoof in the interior of BC. NCC is looking for a solo pastor who will work alongside church elders to provide practical and spiritual pastoral leadership, develop the church’s ministries according to NCC’s mission, and oversee the employees, volunteers, and long-term rental agreement. The solo pastor needs to lead by exemplary living, hospitality, and service. The pastor must have a willing accountability to the board of elders in regard to the use of time, special accounts, time off, and an annual evaluation. They need to ensure a strong commitment to a proper sense of self-care that balances time and energy for work, recreation, family, peer accountability, and personal development. They need to be committed to office hours and a work schedule that ensures the fulfillment of the role and predictable availability in addition to Sunday ministry.

Qualifications:

Executive Pastor - Gospel Chapel Grand Forks, BC

The Ideal Candidate: The ideal Executive Pastor is a leader who works closely with the Lead Pastor and Elders to transform vision-driven strategies into action on the ground. Working alongside staff and ministry they do this by planning, organizing, and directing practical initiatives all the while maintaining a spirit-led focus and heart for the congregation.

Role Summary: The role of the Executive Pastor is threefold: serve Jesus, serve the Church, and serve the Lead Pastor. They will support the Lead Pastor in advancing the church’s vision by evaluating ministry effectiveness, making discerning decisions, and developing implementation strategies. They will also provide leadership to ministry team leaders, ensuring smooth and effective operations across Family, Worship, Discipleship, and Evangelism ministries, and offering pastoral care to the congregation. Position: Indigenous Communities/SCC Liaison

Background

The Indigenous Communities/SCC Liaison is a part-time staff position for someone who loves Jesus and has demonstrated a desire for reconciliation with Indigenous Communities. We are looking for someone who has good administrative and relationship skills to help sustain our relationship with local Indigenous Communities.

We are a mature church of approximately 250 people. We are part of the Conference of BC Mennonite Brethren Churches, adhering to their Confession of Faith and maintaining strong Anabaptist values. We value community life and engagement with local and cross-cultural partnerships. At our core we have a strong commitment to community, egalitarianism, lay leadership, and seeing our world transformed by the good news of Jesus Christ.

A local Indigenous Community and Sardis Community Church are on a reconciliation pathway that has become a significant part of each community. This journey began several years ago and activities have included sharing common meals, operating a children’s camp, gardening projects, joint participation on ceremonial occasions, emergency shelter assistance, prison ministry, and the forming of many friendships between individuals of the two communities.

The time commitment would be approximately 8 hours per week to start.

Responsibilities would include:

1. Reporting to the Lead Pastor for accountability and direction.
2. Being a contact person for both SCC and the local Indigenous Community.
3. Planning joint activities with Indigenous leaders and encouraging SCC participation in those activities as appropriate
4. Provide appropriate resources and education for SCC to motivate and inspire more people to walk a reconciliation journey.
5. Evaluate and monitor SCC participation in ongoing activities.

The Café Director of Operations is responsible to fulfill the vision and mission of The Rock Church, which is to make Jesus Christ known in Squamish. He/she will do this by following and implementing the purpose and mission of our the outreach and missions café, "The Ledge". This mission is to practice extraordinary hospitality as a means to share Jesus.
